MOUNTAIN BIKING

All of the rides will be done on 100% tarmac roads. This trail allows our guest to visit and catch glimpses of Himalayas via mountain bike. The route will connect towns and countryside of Bhutan as we ascend and descend some of the highest passes in the country. Taking you into central Bhutan, the heartland of Buddhism in the Kingdom, you will discover hidden valleys and cross High Mountain passes. To ensure the safety of our guests, we suggest that you start mountain biking in your own home country a month before this trip. Once you are here, we take care of everything to support the mountain biking experiences.

Day 1: Receive at Paro Airport Upon arrival at Paro Airport, Chimorya Bhutan Travel Guide will receive you. You will have an exciting hilly ride from Paro to Thimphu. After lunch at Thimphu, a briefing session follows on the bike ride followed with a short ride at the outskirt of the city.

Day 2: Bicycle ride from Thimphu to Punakha The exciting ride will kick off early morning on day 2 from Simtokha, Thimphu. Our Guest will have a tiring uphill travel from Simtokha to Dochula which is one of the highest passes in Bhutan at 3150 meters above sea level. After experiencing the tremendous view of Dochula with some snacks and tea at Dochula restaurant, the downhill ride continues to Punakha passing through Thinleygang and Lobesa. On reaching Punakha, the guests may take rest or do some sight seeing at Punakha.

Day 3: Bicycle ride from Punakha to Phobjikha The ride from Punakha to Phobjikha will lead you mostly uphill but a very smooth ride with minimal traffic. If in winter, you will get an opportunity to see rare species of Black Necked crane in Phobjikha. A one day halt in Phobjikha to experience the beauty there.

Day 4: Bicycle ride from Phobjikha to Trongsa Trongsa was eastern capital till 19th century where eastern districts were ruled by Trongse Penlop (Eastern zone head). Currently district administration office for Trongse district, our Guest will experience the traditional architecture of Bhutan. It is a beautiful place to experience its beauty for a day there.

Day 5: Trongsa to Bumthang Bumthang called Switzerland of Bhutan is a very wide valley town. It is connected with domestic air services and indeed a beautiful place. With height ranging from 2600m to 4000m above sea level, Bumthang is known as one of the holiest city in the country with six holy sites. A day halt is recommended.

Day 6: Bumthang sight seeing There will be a sight seeing program of beautiful Bumthang. Our Guest have the option to visit the sights on bicycle or using bus.

Day 7: Bicycle ride from Bumthang to Trongsa

Day 8: Bicycle ride from Trongsa to Phobjikha

Day 9: Bicycle ride from Phobjikha to Punakha

Day 10: Bicycle ride from Punakha to Thimphu

Day 11: Drop at Paro Airport.
